Chapter 499 Tragic Lovers, Part 4

He kept staring at the blonde woman. She looked relatively normal, but something was definitely off about this whole situation. His mind flashed and the woman who attacked him appeared.

"FUCK!" Lee Seng swore in Korean. He fell onto his butt as the pendant fell between his legs. "No, no, no, no! This… This can\'t be real! The chances! What the hell?!?" He cupped his mouth as he looked around. He cleared his throat and switched back to English.

"I\'m going to have to give her the pendant while risking my life?!? Hell no!" Lee Seng shook his head. "But if I don\'t do it…" He shuddered remembering the horrible torture he went through. Cain had literally put him through the pain train and just watched like he was enjoying a show. "Yeah, no… Not again. ARGHHHH!" Lee Seng threw himself backwards, landing on his back. How could it be her of all people? "I have to go back to the city… And find her." He sat up and grabbed the pendant. He stared at the picture one last time before closing the pendant and stuffing it into his pocket.

Lee Seng took his time getting back to the city. The morning had turned into a hot almost afternoon. The forest wildlife grew louder as he stopped short of the city perimeter. Lee Seng glanced at his watch. It was 11:43am. He wiped off the sweat on his brow. It was one of the more humid days. He honestly wished he could feel the cool A/C blowing on him, but he had a job to do.

Lee Seng scanned the city. His eyes noticed nothing out of the ordinary. What was, probably, a giant, thriving city was now taken by nature Buildings in different stages of destruction, debris littering the "once paved" roads and the silent memories of a community waiting to come back.

\'I don\'t see anything moving. It\'s quiet, too.\' Lee Seng thought as he pulled his head back behind the tree. \'Find the woman. Show her the pendant and get out.\'

Lee Seng broke from the forest line and entered the city. The animals were the only thing he heard. The farther in he went, the quieter it seemed to get. An occasional small part of a debris would fall, pulling his attention and then when he realized it was nothing, he\'d continue on. The sun beat down on him as he aimlessly walked the city. He wondered where the people came from and if he\'d ever see the woman again. He checked his pockets from time to time, making sure the pendant was in his pocket. The last thing he wanted was to lose the literal item he had to deliver.

\'I could fly to get an idea where they are, but I feel like I might just attract more unnecessary attention as I–\'

TING!

\'What was that?\'

BOOSH!

The rubble on the side exploded as a metal flew at him. Lee Seng threw his arms up and watched as they came to a stop. Lee Seng tossed them off to the side. He winces as another set of noises alert him. He quickly jumps out of the way as electrified nets fly at him.

"Argh." Lee Seng hopped onto his feet and sprinted forwards. "Did they booby trap it? How\'d they know to do that?" Traps fired at him as he dodged and weaved his way forward.

"The traps have sprung! Get whatever that is!" A voice shouted. People popped up all around him. They appeared in the buildings around him, summoning their abilities to fire at him. Fire, wind, earth and water flew at him as men and women poured out of their hiding places and rushed him.

In one motion, Lee Seng summoned the katana, pulling it out as he quickly spun. Gravity flew out of the blade, creating a wall that pushed outwards. Abilities slammed into the wall as it pushed into the fighters. Lee Seng fired off at the ranged attackers, destroying parts of the building and killing some of the attackers.

[12 Souls have been added.]

Lee Seng whipped another strike at the crowd on the ground, quickly making a dart for it.

"Get him!" Voices shouted.

"Warn the others!" Another shouted. Lee Seng made it down the road, watching as people began to pop up all around him. He was quickly forced into an alleyway, hopping over the large rusted car that blocked his way. He sprinted through the alleyway, launching himself at a wall. He quickly scaled the wall, using his gravity to propel him upwards. Sounds of abilities firing off, quickly forced him to spin and raise a shield as he rocketed higher into the sky.

Lee Seng continued his momentum upwards, using gravity to rocket him up while he protected himself from getting hit. He pushed straight to the top of the two large buildings, flying past the many storied buildings as he spun around and noticed the amount of people in this city. Lee Seng spun upwards watching the wind users take off.

"I figured that would happen." Lee Seng whispered. He watched fire-users propel themselves upwards into the sky. With a click of his tongue, he continued darting across the sky.

"Get him!" A wind-user shouted. Wind blasts shit out of the sky, flying straight for Lee Seng as he spun through the air. Lee Seng dodged right, feeling condensed wind blades fly past him as he darted away from the blasts.

Lee Seng whipped an arm backwards, releasing an uneven blast of energy at him the wind-users. He watched as two wind-users we\'re knocked out of the air as fire-users blasted by.

"Oh come on!" Lee Seng grumbled. "I should\'ve expected this from wind-users but fire-users?!? So unfair!" Lee Seng propelled himself forward, quickly leaving the group behind.

"Echoes to me." Lee Seng shouted. Two illusionary images appeared, weaving themselves around as Lee Seng tried his best to distract his enemies from getting him.

"Which one do we get?!?" A fire-users shouted.

"They\'re clumped together! We\'ll vortex them and you can target the real one!" A wind-user shouted.

"VORTEX!" The wind-users shouted. The air around Lee Seng began to whip him counter clockwise. Lee Seng spun around as he tried to get his bearings.

"Light him up!" A fire-user shouted. Fireballs flew at him, igniting the wind vortex. The sky lot up as the vortex lit, funneling flames around and around as Lee Seng disappeared from their sights.

"Is he dead?" A wind-user asked.

"Would he drop?" A fire-user asked. "Or is the vortex current strong enough to hold him in that?"

"Release it. We\'ll see what happens. Wind-users get ready to capture the Fox." The wind-users released the vortex spell, dissipating the flames and air. A huge blast of gravity fired off at the group, knocking most of the fire and wind users out of the sky.

"Gravitum: Earth Press."

Most of the fire and wind users suddenly flew downwards from their trajectory, falling straight down as screams erupted.

"AHHHHH!"

[6 humans have been slain. 24 souls have been added.]

"W-what the hell was that?" A fire user stutterd. They all looked at their dead comrades. The group began to stutter as Lee Seng glanced at the dead. He thought he would feel something but… He felt nothing at all.

Lee Seng spun around and blasted off. He didn\'t wait to find out what would happen to him. The delayed shouts caught the attention of the rest of the enemies alive. They launched themselves towards him, sporadically firing off attacks at Lee Seng. The attacks sailed last Lee Seng, pushing a smile on his face as he dived for one of the open buildings. A gust of wind slammed into his body, forcing him to lose concentration for a second. A fireball slammed into him, knocking his concentration completely and releasing the gravity from his complete control.

Lee Seng flew straight down. The fire and wind users rushed after him as Lee Seng gritted his teeth.

"Argh!" Lee Seng flipped himself, shoving gravity below him. The ground tore apart as Lee Seng pulled his arms up to him. "Come on! Come on!" Lee Seng lit up, feeling the gravity wrap around him as a gravity bubble released. He suddenly felt everything come to a stop. Lee Seng spun, watching as wind and fire flew at him.

"Repulsion."

A wide blast of gravity flew out at the group slamming into them as Lee Seng swing his hand downward.

"Gravitum: Earth Press." Lee Seng watched the enemies get swatted away, flying in the opposite direction. "Argh!" The Negative pressed against him.

\'Shit…\' Lee Seng groaned. The bubble popped, releasing him onto the ground. He landed with a hard thud, crashjng straight through the first few floors before embedding himself into the concrete. Pain flared in his back as bones shattered.

\'Need to… get up \' Lee Seng felt his back cracking back into place as his lungs shouted for air.

Gasp!

Lee Seng shot up, screaming in pain.
